Received the following from Australian Taekwondo.
Dear Head Instructors and Club Owners

We have received advice from the WTF that modifications to allow clubs to renew their own WTF licences will be finalised by the end of the month.

Please do not send in any WTF licence applications to admin. Once the system has been updated we will send out advice to all Instructors and Club Owners about how the process will operate going forward.

Students and parents were very please to see this competition organised for White, Yellow and Blue Belts as it gave these students the opportunity to gain valuable experience on the mat. The Koryo Centre at Shepparton is an ideal venue for this type of competition as we were able to run 2 full size courts for Sparring and Poomsae.
We would like to thank all our organisers, judges, referee’s and parents for bring their children to Shepparton to compete.

2017 World Taekwondo Culture Expo in South Korea.

September 19th, 2017

A TAEKWONDO club in Hume has a knack for kicking its way to glory.

The Koryo Taekwondo Club, which trains in Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park, won 24 medals recently at the

The 14 competitors, aged from seven to 76, won 14 gold, five silver and five bronze between them in the poomsae (pattern of defence-and-attack motions) and sparring divisions.2017 Hume Leader

The expo was a family affair with four mothers competing alongside their children.

Club founder and Grandmaster Russell Wood, 76, lead the demonstration team and picked up silver in the Amatch poomsae.

Mr Wood said the club’s dominant performance had nothing to do with luck.

“It all comes down to hard work and discipline,” he said.

“I try to impart my years of experience and I get them to go to training seminars to perfect their techniques.”

Mr Wood said the club encouraged the parents and children to train together.

At the expo, the Delia family won the most gold medals in the team.

Mum and black belt Rebecca and her two daughters, blue belt Letischa, 11, and yellow belt Shiloh, 7, achieved two golds each.

Mr Wood said to have one family win six Gold medals in Sparring and Poomsae was “extraordinary”.
