Qualifications For Nationals

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016

2016 Australian National Championships
Clarification Notes:

We have received questions from a number of members in regard to the Nationals Package which was rec…ently released. The following information is provided for clarification:

Qualifications For Nationals
Colour Belt competitors must have qualified in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place in their State Selection competitions and Black Belt competitors must have the approval of their State Association.

State Team Wear
STAL supports all States and State Teams, therefore it is STAL preference that competitors wear a State Uniform where available. It is expected that all competitors will abide by State policies regarding uniforms.

STAL Registered Kukkiwon Certificates
If your Kukkiwon Certificate was not acquired through STAL, or you are not a holder of a WTF Global Athlete License, your Kukkiwon accreditation will not be registered in the STAL Kukkiwon Database. You are therefore requested to register your Kukkiwon Dan/Poom Certificate with STAL by emailing your name, Dan/Poom level and Kukkiwon Number to admin@austkd.com.au. This information MUST be received prior to the closing date of entries (24 July 2016) to confirm your black belt accreditation and eligibility to enter the selection events.

The package will shortly be updated with the above clarifications.

2016 Koryo SeminarKoryo Poomsae/Judging Seminar
The Seminar turned out to be a very successful day as we had members from 11 different clubs including one from NSW.
54 Participants attended the seminar which covered and overview on the 2014 WTF Poomsae Rules, a 1 hour Kukkiwon video on basic techniques, all the Taegeuk and Black Belt forms plus 2 hours scoring practice and revision using iPads. Schembris TKD Centre proved to be an ideal venue as it has two levels with one set up with seating for 60 participants and a large TV screen whilst the other area was used for Poomsae and scoring practice.
We also introduced the new WTF issue 2 text book to the participants which is a great improvement on the issue 1 text book. Our total stock of these text books were all sold, however, we are now taking orders for our next shipment.
Thanks to Rob and Nerise Schembri we were able to raise a $1000 for the Marton Sister which will be deposited in their bank account on Tuesday. Also we need to thank Joyce from Koryo TKD for managing participants and book sales.
The following clubs attended the Seminar, Red Dragons, Maryborough Martial Arts, Fusion Martial Arts, MTC, Tigers TKD, Revolution TKD, JB TKD, V Team, Geelong ITF, Jung Moo, Schembris TKD and Koryo TKD.

Dear Fellow Instructor,

We are almost there – 2016 Autumn Open is in just over two weeks. Things are looking good and we are once again ready to deliver yet another pleasant, happy and successful event.

I am now writing to remind you of a few things that are yet to be finalised.

The online entry period for Sparring and Poomsae ends at Midnight on Saturday, April 23rd – still enough time to register unless your athletes have already done so.

Please keep in mind the following: In order to manage competition better numbers of entries are capped to 350 Sparring and 200 Poomsae competitors – there will be no entries accepted after these numbers have been achieved.

All details regarding this event are included in our Tournament Pack, already sent to you and available on www.tkdvic.com.

Final program will be published as soon as we have prepared the draw which will in most certainty be available about two days before the actual tournament day. Please be patient; you will not be forgotten.

As the online closing for Sparring and Poomsae is midnight on Saturday April 23, we expect all athletes to have registered by then and in time for Weigh-in on the following morning, Sunday April 24th.

So, weigh-in will be conducted on Sunday April 24th at 4 locations and as per the following:

Name:

Club:

Number of athletes competing:

Role on the day:

Please email these details to tsus1@hotmail.com ASAP. Under no circumstances will names be added to the list after Wednesday, April 27th, meaning that all above details will need to be supplied well before then. I will not be adding any names to this list after April 27th.

Please note: On this occasion all coaches will need to register online on www.peopleinaction.net.au and will be issued personalized coaches passes printed online – no pass no participation.

Additional information – The Tournament Pack already provided and also available on www.tkdvic.com is well documented. The answers to any of your queries can be found there.

If the Tournament Committee deems that additional information is needed, then that information will be sent to you well in advance.

Please note: To assist and to make the competition run smoothly and on time on the day, each club participating needs to supply 1 volunteer for every 5 competitors (or part thereof) and appropriate number of coaches making sure that there are no holdups created by shortage, especially in cases where one coach insists on coaching in two consecutive matches, thus holding up the proceedings.

In order to be up to date regarding the proceedings on the day, the coaches address will be held first thing in the morning. It is essential that every coach is present, even those who will not be officiating until later in the day.

All Volunteers need to contact the coordinators listed in the Tournament Pack or on the Facebook.

NEXT COMMUNICATION WILL BE SENT IN A FEW DAYS OR WHEN NECESSARY.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook as information posted there will always be more up to date.
