Hello Friends, Colleagues and Supporters of Para-Taekwondo,During the past several months, I have had several opportunities to share and promote Para-Taekwondo to the ‘World’ outside of Taekwondo; including various community leaders, international sports leaders, national and international ‘disability’ organizations and even other martial arts groups. The response has always been great and I strongly believe that the World is starting to learn more on how Taekwondo creates significant changes in the lives of every individual regardless of their physical, mental and emotional state of being.

Through these experiences, I do realize that there is still very limited knowledge of the work that we do and the significance it plays not only from a sport point of view, but the development and promotion of the individual as a Whole. Taekwondo has the potential to contribute to the overall growth of each practitioner, while at the same time working on dismantling societal prejudices, stigma and fear all associated with disabilities.

As we continue to develop and grow Para-taekwondo, we must realize that in order for it to have its greatest impact on society, we must teach it to include all aspects of human development and growth and not just restricting it to ‘sport only’ arena where it is available for a few.

As always, I wish all of you much success in the work that you do for the betterment of all members of our Global Family!
