Thursday, September 25th, 2014Communiqué To Taekwondo Members
Dear Taekwondo Member
I am happy to advise you that the unified Board of Sports Taekwondo Australia Ltd met in
Melbourne for the first time on Sunday, 21 September, 2014. As Chairman, I am pleased to report
that the meeting was very positive with a strong spirit of cooperation and strong focus on the
future of Australian Taekwondo, and particularly you the members.
It is clear that members have been concerned about what was happening with the unification
process over a long period. We wish to thank you for your perseverance and support over this
time and we now we look forward to engaging with you as we build the organisation together.
I would like to take this opportunity to briefly outline what we will be doing in the weeks ahead to
get the new STA underway.
Communications with our members, and their views of the association, is very important and we
will be seeking your input so that together we can build the organisation around the needs of our
members. We will be seeking your involvement through an online survey that is currently being
designed and should be available in a few weeks. We will be communicating with you about these
and other initiatives through our web page, eNews and social media services such as Facebook
and Twitter, which will also provide you with the opportunity to input your comments and views.
We have also put together an interim management team whose job is to bring together all of the
member service processes to ensure that you have ongoing support as we build STA.
I am also pleased to advise that planning is well underway for the 2014 Australian National
Championships, which will be staged as the first unified competition in Adelaide from 5?7
December 2014. This event represents your chance to show our community that Taekwondo is
well and truly one as we all come together to share our passion for Taekwondo, whether it is as a
competitor, coach, referee, judge, volunteer or spectator.
I am excited at the prospect of our organisation coming to fruition and I am sure that together we
will build an organisation that the Australian Taekwondo community will embrace and make
Taekwondo the martial art and sport of choice. I ask that we all work together and support each
other on this journey of positive change.

Shepparton Grading
Wednesday, September 17th, 2014
Sundays Grading at Shepparton proved to be bigger and better then the last one with some 80 Students being graded
for Yellow to Red Belt.
As usual Head Instructor Sammy Rachele and Instructor George Moutafis did a great job organising the grading.
Both Claudia and Isabella
(Sammys Daughters) prepare all the grading application forms so well that it made GM Russell Wood job so easy.
